Meet Cheyanne (they/them)
Afrocentric Clinical Social Worker, MSW
Cheyanne's Joynt, led by Cheyanne Woodrow MSW, LCSW, is a community mental health program for descendants of the African, Asian, Indigenous Diaspora and their accomplices. Informed by Cheyanne Woodrow’s grandmother, Dru, who treated the community like her kin informed the framework for Cheyanne’s training and world perspective.
Maintaining mental health is simultaneously a historically exclusionary endeavor and a tool for eugenics of vulnerable populations.
Cheyannes Joynt understands and fights for the following:
It is a human right to have culturally competent mental health care.
It is a human right to have accessible and affordable care.
